The Product Manager, K-12 Curriculum, International is responsible for leading adaptation of curriculum content for international K-12 students and teachers, ensuring the products meet the diverse needs of regional markets. The product manager interprets the needs of various global customers for both private and government sectors and applies these insights to ensure that adaptations align with cultural sensitivities and specific educational standards and requirements. The product manager owns relationships with cross-functional teams, including content developers, project managers, content licensing, production, and our digital product group to ensure the quality and academic integrity of McGraw Hill's international products. Preference is for employees to work Eastern Standard Time hours, but employees may reside in any time zone.
How will you make an impact?
Develop a shared vision for product(s) through investigation of market demands, user feedback, and competitive analysis in the US and internationally. In partnership with key stakeholders, gather and prioritize product and customer requirements.Manage and lead content development through conceptualization, design, and adaptation of K-12 products and programs that align tightly with customer requirements. for Math, Science, Literacy, Computing Skills, and other subjects as required.Plan and develop content for teacher and student materials, including print, digital, and media projects.Establish and implement project and product guidelines and checklists to deploy with an extensive group of external vendors, ensuring alignment with project objectives and quality standards.Manage the product budget effectively, making informed decisions to optimize resource allocation and manage operational initiatives for tactical delivery.Anticipate, identify, and communicate project status and risks to key partners, including relevant senior leadership at MH and any internal and external stakeholders.Work closely with Production, Content Developers, and Digital teams assigned to the project as well as cross-functional teams from other divisions to ensure that customer requirements, project schedules, and goals are met.
What you will be doing:
Hire, train and support project-status and contract content developers and editors.Utilize external perspectives to enhance products and services, articulating customer needs to drive meaningful solutions.Determine work capacity, delegate and allocate work across team members, and present business case for additional resources as needed.Contribute to creation of schedules and product requirements necessary for product proposals and to achieve project funding.Assist with CoE international projects as needed.Stay abreast of industry trends and market dynamics, leveraging external networks to inform strategic decisions.Own complex stakeholder relationships.Work with teams to coordinate cross-team dependencies and alignment of national (US) and international priorities.Long-term deals in the government sector.Private market adaptations.
What you need to be successful:
Bachelor's degree in education, instructional technology, STEM, or humanities; Master's degree preferred or equivalent years of experience with three plus years' experience in related role.Demonstrated understanding of pedagogy and the K-12 teaching environment with teaching experience, preferably in Math or Science.Strong program management skills, including people management, scheduling, and the ability to negotiate across functional teams.Excellent editorial skills, particularly creating and applying style guides.Experience managing print and digital product development, preferably in an international capacity.Practical business sense, fiscal skills, and accountability.Experience producing learning materials for the Middle Eastern market would be beneficial.
Preferred:
Strong knowledge of e-Learning solutions, including digital authoring and online multimedia and video.Strong LMS knowledge.
The pay range for this position is between $65,000 - $90,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan is provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
