The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the GES Global Engineering Services division.
The Physical Security and Safety Program Manager is responsible for coordination and delivery of protective security support to designated Abbott employees including Travel Safety, Situational Awareness, Executive Protection and Special Event Security.
What You’ll Work On
The Abbott Physical Security and Safety Program Manager is accountable for day-to-day operations and implementation of the Abbott Employee Safety Program.
Reports to the Director of Global Communications, Risk Intelligence and Executive Protection Programs
Provides leadership, strategic planning, and management direction regarding all Travel Safety, Situational Awareness, Executive Protection and Special Event Security matters.
Develops programs to promote safe and secure employee travel, domestic and foreign.
Works in close collaboration to supplement the existing work and scope to current contract security and future providers.
Oversees Contract compliance with current and future Contract Security providers.
Implements methods and practices that will enhance personal protection posture of designated Abbott employees.
Travels to support protective operations before, during and after designated employee travel, both domestic and foreign.
Liaison with local business, law enforcement and security counterparts as necessary both domestically and overseas.
Collaborates with various departments, external stakeholders and first responders, in the intelligence gathering and security planning for designated employee travel and special events.
Assists the Senior Program Manager for Communications, Risk Intelligence and Executive Protection to evaluate personal protection and special event security training as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred
Minimum 10 years of proven experience in physical security and personal/executive protection; federal law enforcement/military training, or similar with accreditation
Experience in staffing/manpower logistics planning
Experience in emergency response/contingency planning
Experience in protective advance methodology
Experience in special event security planning
Excellent working knowledge of personal/executive protection security
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree is preferred

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
