DIVISION OVERVIEW:
Crown’s Food Division is the number one manufacturer of food cans in the world. Our complete array of food packaging serves a variety of markets, including fruit, vegetables, dairy, fish, meat, ready meals, pet food, infant milk powder and other dry food products. LOCATION:
Plant 37 is located in Hanover, PA.
The Plant manufactures
2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry working both continuous and conventional shifts. There are approximately 95 employees at the Hanover location. The Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to Gettysburg PA, York PA and the Maryland border.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Electrician or Electrical Technician will provide support to plant operations through troubleshooting, performing maintenance, repairing and installing of equipment, electrical systems and components.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, the Electrician's responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Maintain and troubleshoot all electrical systems and devices within the plant
• Knowledge and understanding of Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs)
• Assist in new installations and upgrades of plant equipment
• Conduct process checks as required
• Perform regular safety inspections to ovens
• Work with outside contractors as needed to complete projects or various plant maintenance functions
• Keep work area safe, clean and organized
• Assist and support other production floor operations as required
• Keep Manufacturing Supervisor and Maintenance Manager informed of operational status of equipment
• Complete all administrative tasks, including log books, data entry and record keeping in proper order
• Complete training as identified for continual improvement and development in job related skills
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years manufacturing experience and/or equivalent job experience
Able to work alternate work schedules including overtime based on business needs
Able to use DVM, analog type multi-meter, Amprobe, megger, oscilloscope and soldering station
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Able to read and interpret blue prints, schematics and manuals
Demonstrate knowledge of basic troubleshooting and calibration for electronics
Knowledge and understanding of OSHA's electrical safe work practices (e.g. Lock-out/Tag-out, NFPA 70 Electrical Code, NFPA 79 Machinery Standards)
Preferred Requirements
Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology, Journeyman's Card or other Electrical Technology Certification
Experience programming and setting up, troubleshooting and diagnosing Allen Bradley PLCs
Experience with HMI programming and set-up
Knowledge of PLC Network programming and set-up
Able to effectively use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Knowledge of variable speed drives (programming and set-up)
Experience with high pressure hydraulics and pneumatics
Experience with automated material handling systems
Experience troubleshooting magnetic controls (e.g. switches, relays and solenoids)
Knowledge and experience terminating transformers and electric motors
Basic knowledge of servo and stepper motors and drives
Experience with installing and fashioning electrical conduit and installing electrical wireway and associated hangers
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Able to sit/stand for 8-12 hour shifts
Working Conditions
Generally works in a plant environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to lifting, warehouse and forklift traffic
May be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
Production noise levels are frequently loud
