Job Description:

Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and project manager to gather technical information and understand project requirements.Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, API documentation, technical specifications, and release notes.Translate complex technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.Review and edit existing documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.Keep documentation up to date with software updates and changes and manage version control.Conduct regular quality assurance checks on documentation to ensure its accuracy and relevance.Work with cross-functional teams to improve and streamline the documentation process and information flow.Responsible for writing and editing technical documentation.Develop and maintain installation, configuration and how-to documentation, on-line help and troubleshooting and maintenance documentation for technical and non-technical staff.Work with technical and business staff to analyze documentation requirements.May develop curriculum and instructional design, including development of teaching aids.Maintain the project document repository.Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of document development experience.Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of recent, relevant work experience.Have exceptional written and oral communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Product Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).Experience in the development of documents based on information obtained through requirements gathering.Experience using SharePoint.Significant writing, proofreading, and editing skills.Experience utilizing time management capabilities in high stress writing environments.Must be well organized and possess excellent team building skills.Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience as a technical writer for a technical software development project.Prior experience with the Commonwealth of Kentucky or other state government agencies.Key Competencies:
