SUMMARY
SHRM’s goal is to be the trusted authority for all things work. As the Enterprise solutions team, we focus on supporting our partner organizations to exceed business objectives through HR and leadership solutions, while also linking best-in-class technologies and services. The Product Director is responsible for managing the revenue and gross margin of a multimillion dollar product portfolio and will:
Responsibilities:
Create new product ideas through a firm grasp of the competitive landscape, client needs, and internal research insights.
Generate hypotheses regarding the most important leverage points and translate the hypotheses into requests for the research team.
Source and propose new ideas, concepts, or features with confidence, providing supporting data and a business case to maximize business results.
Manage a customer advisory board to test, source, and verify new ideas or receive feedback on current products. This includes facilitating each advisory board meeting with C-suite executives.
Manage the product lifecycle from ideation through launch, growth and maturity.
Coordinate product development between cross-functional teams in a matrixed structure, while meeting project timelines.
Provide in-depth sales enablement support, serving as a subject-matter-expert as needed.
Understand product positioning and pricing in the market and support sales teams internally and with clients.
Build and maintain multi-year product roadmap based on ongoing product health analysis.
Develop long range product roadmaps that drive revenue and margin for the company.
Analyze and act on current health of product results including recommending changes.
Understand pricing and product positioning in the market to drive evolution of the product.
Regular communication with management on status, relevant insights and operational program metrics.
Coordinate with the Program Director for events to ensure the event is aligned with the larger solution product goals

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent experience and training in lieu of degree.
At least ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in progressively senior leadership roles, related to strategic program development and implementation, product development, operations, and program measurement experience along with supervisory experience.
Experience in leadership learning & development, diversity & inclusion, and an understanding of what drives behavior change.
Strategic understanding of business objectives coupled with business judgement
Experience facilitating C-suite conversations in a variety of formats (center stage keynotes, small group settings, commercial interactions, etc.)
Preferred experience with products such as: learning & development, educational, diversity & inclusion, leadership.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to commercialize products aligned to proprietary insight
Proven capability in translating broader vision into big ideas and tactics
Creativity and innovation in defining products that will meet market need
Instills a and rapid test and learn approach to product development and hypothesis-driven experimentation, including championing iterative customer research and passion for continuous innovation and improvement through lean product design
Advocates for a holistic, consistent customer experience across products
Collaborative and influential team member across multiple functions including sales, marketing, research, and delivery
Works independently in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working in a very entrepreneurial environment
Passionate about SHRM's mission and committed to advancing the HR profession

The hiring range for this position is $170,000 to $190,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. SHRM offers a competitive and comprehensive total rewards package.
