Position Overview:
The Senior Accountant in the manufacturing sector will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance within the organization. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting, and financial analysis to support operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Analyze variances between actual and budgeted financial performance.
Analyze production costs and develop cost reduction strategies.
Maintain accurate records of inventory and fixed assets.
Monitor manufacturing overhead and allocate costs appropriately.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analyses.
Track performance against budgets and adjust forecasts as necessary.
Conduct periodic audits and reviews of financial processes.
Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
Conduct financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decisions.
Assess financial implications of manufacturing operations and projects.
Provide data-driven insights to management for operational improvements.
Mentor and train junior accounting staff.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes.
Assist with payroll processing as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on manufacturing.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
