Job Title: Senior Staff AccountantJob Description

A large organization is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant for its Corporate Accounting operations based in Lenexa, KS. This individual will be responsible for various accounting tasks and providing accurate and timely financial information.

Responsibilities

Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to general ledger for all companies.

Participate in the month-end close process.

Prepare journal entries and other general accounting tasks.

Conduct research and analytical problem solving.

Respond to branch inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Prepare summary financial information and ad hoc reporting to management as needed.

Assist with external audits and preparation of schedules.

Undertake special projects as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Fixed asset accounting

Public accounting

General ledger accounting

Month-end closing

Financial statement preparation

Balance sheet preparation

GAAP knowledge

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required

5+ years of experience in accounting

CPA highly preferred

Experience in public accounting or a large company with high volume and complexity

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Work Environment

This role requires 100% in-office work. The environment is very collaborative and energetic. The role reports to the Accounting Manager over the GL/fixed assets team. The company offers competitive pay, including eligibility for raises twice annually, a 10% annual bonus, an incentive bonus plan, and an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) eligible after one year of employment.
