As the 1st Shift Trades Superintendent, you are a key player in our maintenance operations, expertly managing mechanical and electrical challenges in a dynamic production environment.Who You Are:As the 1st Shift Manufacturing Superintendent, Maintenance, you are a cornerstone of our maintenance operations, adept at managing both mechanical and electrical challenges within a fast-paced production environment. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, your role drives key performance indicators and embodies our core values of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement. With proven expertise in multi-shift operations, you will oversee a team comprising 3 Supervisors and approximately 32 hourly skilled technicians.What You Will Do:Leadership and Management:

Direct a diverse team to ensure 24/7 plant coverage, adapting to increased demands or during special projects and planned downtimes. Manage multiple shifts effectively, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.Budget Oversight:

Control operational and maintenance & engineering (M&E) budgets, including labor, overtime, and functional supplies. Lead capital project management based on a strategic five-year plan.Performance Metrics:

Monitor and report on area-specific KPIs, including safety scores, trade metrics like PM completion, backlog management, and downtime reduction. Develop and critique operational goals to push for higher achievement and refine strategies.Talent Management:

Maintain staffing levels by collaborating closely with HR, engaging in proactive recruitment and training initiatives. Drive the development of team members through robust onboarding, apprenticeship programs, and partnerships with trade schools and local colleges.Strategic Collaboration:

Participate actively in cross-functional meetings with FSQA & Operations teams, contributing to foreign material investigations and implementing corrective measures or engineered alternatives to prevent issues.Communication and Availability:

Remain accessible for communication, including texts and calls, around the clock to address urgent team or business needs.

Your Qualifications:Extensive experience in managing technical teams in a production or manufacturing setting.Strong capability in budget management and fiscal planning.Demonstrated leadership in driving KPIs and implementing process improvements.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships and fostering a collaborative team environment.Availability to handle responsibilities outside of standard working hours as needed.
