Job Summary
The Procurement and Purchasing Manager will oversee both strategic procurement and day-to-day purchasing activities as well as negotiating with key vendors across our family of companies. This role will ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining our commitment to quality, ethical business practices, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with our core values and business objectives
Manage supplier relationships, fostering partnerships that drive innovation and excellence
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms, demonstrating integrity in all dealings
Execute day-to-day purchasing activities, including order placement, expediting, and problem resolution
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand and meet their procurement and purchasing needs, exemplifying teamwork
Implement and maintain procurement and purchasing systems, leveraging technology for efficiency
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies, prioritizing safety in all activities
Lead and develop the procurement and purchasing team located in each of our nine branches, promoting a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement
Manage inventory levels and procurement budgets, controlling costs with integrity
Monitor and report on key procurement and purchasing metrics, maintaining transparency in all activities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in procurement and purchasing, preferably in the industrial equipment or related industries
Strong knowledge of procurement practices, supply chain management, and inventory control
Experience with ERP systems and e-procurement platforms
Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM, CPP) is a plus
Skills
Excellent negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills
Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling
Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and decision-making capabilities in a fast-paced environment
