The Community Engagement department within the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education is recruiting Community Involvement Specialists (CIS) for the FIU All-Stars middle school enrichment program. The CIS will collect registration forms and communicate with parents about the program and activities being held.Duties include:Reviews attendance and checks Attendance Bulletin on a daily basis to verify accurate reporting of attendance. Contacts parents when student is absent. Maintains a log of telephone calls, including date and time of communication and outcomeAssists program manager with registration of studentsMaintains updated program files and documentsPrepares and maintains a variety of documents, including forms, routine correspondence, class lists, and announcements/program flyersUpdates student attendance records including summary attendance sheetsPerforms registration activities: registers, transfers, and withdraws students; updates records/cards as required; processes student accident formsResponds to inquiries from parents and students regarding program offerings, attendance, and registration proceduresMaintains student data spreadsheet and checks e-mail dailyThe Community Involvement Specialist's (CIS) schedule will reflect the allocation approved. In cases where extenuating circumstances require to work additional hours, approval must be obtained.Job Category

Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Social Work, or related field. OR Miami-Dade County Public School employee with at least one year of experience working with children.Work Schedule
