Assistant Dispatcher / Inside Sales

The Inside Salesperson will work with existing and new customers to determine fuel/lubricant needs; processing quotes and sales orders through faxes, email and phone and expediting sales orders and purchase orders. There will be days that the Inside Salesperson will handle the dispatcher role when the main dispatcher is out. During those times, you will fill in for dispatcher and be responsible for approximately 15-18 drivers and vehicles, who deliver fuel to hundreds of retail, commercial, and industrial customers. When covering dispatch duties, main responsibilities are dispatching various carriers to deliver gasoline to customers; identify and prepare a list of available drivers for the next schedule of deliveries bearing in mind available hours, DOT regulation / compliance and customer needs; ensure that run-outs and retains at customer locations are avoided; any incidents are logged, reviewed, and steps are taken to learn from and eliminate in the future; prepare daily reports to track deliveries.
Qualifications:
Must possess excellent communication skills with management, sales, drivers, customer service and customers.Understand general terms and conditions of customer contracts to ensure proper pricing and fulfillment requirements.Must be able to handle emergencies that may arise with accidents, spills or other incidents. Must be familiar with hazardous material handling, and basic spill cleanup methods.Geographical skills including time and ability to route efficientlyAbility to work in a positive method with drivers scheduling, and routing to assure on time deliveries.Ability to work with customers assuring their satisfaction if they call in need of tendering loads, tracking loads, or other concerns.
Working hours are generally 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. M-F, with some varying days/times depending on the dispatching fill in needs. This will include some alternate schedule days/times, as well as some weekend times and cell phone availability.
