This grant-funded position will work in coordination with Partnerships, Faculty, and Administration to administer and supervise workforce development programming aligned with federal and state Career and Technical funding opportunities. The position supervises, trains, and supports staff in the areas of workforce development, community outreach and recruitment, student retention, and college and career transition efforts. This position also contributes to the reporting requirements for grant funded programming.
Essential Functions
40% - Develops, plans, organizes, and implements workforce development programs; researches, collects, reviews and recommends industry standards, trends, best practices, and emerging technologies; develops, assesses, and integrates student career opportunities and industry alignment post completion; identifies alternative funding sources, prepares funding proposals, and administers grants as assigned.30% - Collaborates with Faculty and Administration to align workforce initiatives with college goals; supports development of goals through research and alignment to industry needs, local and national job data, and relationship building in the workforce community; ensures compliance with applicable regulations, policies, audit procedures; coordinates staff learning and training opportunities.15% - Hires, plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, and evaluates the work of staff; identifies and supports college-wide opportunities in the area of workforce and partnerships.15% - Directs and oversees the resolution of escalated issues and partner concerns by functioning as a liaison with other internal and external constituents.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, organizational development or directly related field and four years of experience in areas such as planning, developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating instructional services programs which experience includes two years of management and supervisory experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
A. Four (4) or more years of supervisory experience that includes evaluating and motivating employeesB. Experience effectively presenting information in writing (Note: application materials will be evaluated on this area)C. Experience with workforce development funding programs such as Perkins, WIOA, DOL grants, etc.D. Experience managing projects that include internal and external partnershipsE. Experience analyzing, evaluating, and presenting workforce programming and/or partnershipsF. Experience creating and delivering presentations for effective relationship building, outreach, and promotion
Special Working Conditions
Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment. May require travel to partner locations. Work Schedule M-F 8am-4:30pm, may be required to work evenings or weekends. May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a computer monitor. Short-term position through June 30th, 2025.
Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
