Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Gannon Center for Women and Leadership at Loyola University Chicago educates and fosters women leaders to contribute in the development of a more just social order. The Gannon Centers seeks to prepare women to lead in every sector of society; to promote innovative, interdisciplinary research that will shape leadership for the 21st century; to build a network that supports women in the practice of leadership; and advance dialogue on compelling issues affecting women's lives.
Reporting to the Director of the Gannon Center, the Program Manager is an integral member of the Gannon Center team and collaborates with the Director and Office Coordinator on Center-wide initiatives. The Program Manager specifically focuses on the Center's undergraduate student programming, performing the following duties:
* Develops and administers evidenced-based leadership, social justice, feminist, and professional development programing for the Gannon Scholars program, including weekly group meetings and an annual retreat
* Implements all aspects of the Gannon Scholar undergraduate research programming, including developing curricular resources supporting students in developing an independent research project and teaching annual UNIV 102 course introducing first-year Gannon Scholars to academic research
* Leads the annual Gannon Scholar application and selection process
* Administers the Johnson Scholar undergraduate research program and the associated undergraduate research funding
* Provides individualized advising to Gannon Center-affiliated students on professional, academic, and research matters
* Manages the annual scholarship application and awarding process for all Gannon Center-affiliated scholarship endowments
* Coordinates the Gannon Center's annual Undergraduate Leadership Award
* Coordinates and collaborates on additional short-term programming to enhance the mission of the Gannon Center such as Gannon Scholar alumnae events, guest speakers, college visits for high school students, Women's History Month, and other Gannon Center-wide initiatives
* Collaborates with Office Coordinator to maintain and update materials on Gannon Center website; develops publicity materials for programming and events as needed
* Collects and maintains data on Gannon Center program outcomes; creates print and web materials to demonstrate Gannon Center's work
* Organizes Gannon Scholars' weekly Monday night meetings
* Performs other duties as required
Minimum Education and/or Work ExperienceMaster's degree in higher education or a related field; two to five years of related experience; teaching experience at the university level; and experience in social justice and/or feminist programming and leadership and/or professional development programming.
