Job Overview:The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including compliance with regulatory standards, internal controls, and company policies. Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.Ensure timely and accurate preparation of regulatory filings, including SEC filings, investor reports, and other required disclosures.Analyze financial data and trends to identify any inconsistencies or areas for improvement.Collaborate with the finance team to streamline financial reporting processes and improve reporting accuracy.Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:Stay updated with changes in financial regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to the investment services industry.Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and maintain robust internal controls.Liaise with external auditors during audits and resolve any issues related to financial reporting.Technical Accounting Expertise:Research and interpret complex accounting issues, including those related to new transactions, products, or changes in standards.Provide guidance and training to the accounting team on technical accounting matters.Internal Controls and Process Improvement:Evaluate existing financial reporting processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Support the implementation of new financial systems, policies, and procedures to ensure robust financial reporting.Stakeholder Collaboration:Work closely with internal departments (e.g., Treasury, Tax, Legal) to gather necessary information for accurate reporting.Communicate financial results to senior management and provide insights into key financial metrics.Act as a point of contact for investor relations regarding financial performance and reporting.Team Leadership and Development:Mentor and train junior accountants on financial reporting standards and practices.Provide leadership in complex accounting projects and initiatives.Senior Financial Reporting Accountant
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CFA, or equivalent certification preferred).5-7+ years of experience in financial reporting, preferably within the investment services or financial industry.OR 4 years public accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, SEC reporting requirements, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.Proficiency in financial reporting software and advanced Excel skills.Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Proven leadership and team management experience.
