Full Job DescriptionJob#: 2051030Job Description: If interested in the opportunity below please email a copy of your resume to[email protected] Position: Data EngineerLocation: Bedminster, NJ30 Month ContractRole Overview:Location:Local to NJ: Can come in for a portion of the weekOtherwise: Remote?Team: Global Network ManagementResponsibilities:Engineer and deploy network fabric configuration to support Verizon's strategic 5G directionEngineer, automate, and deploy Spine/Leaf fabric networks in Service Aggregation Point (SAP) locations throughout the western/south territoriesCollaborate with Capacity Planning, Design, and Operations teams to implement strategic technology goals for the Spine/Leaf fabric platform (eNSE)Support the migration of core elements to the Cloud Platform (VCP) and eNSEFoster teamwork and cooperation with all stakeholders, including territories, edge, and designLead by exampleKey Responsibilities:Engineer IP edge networks at SAP and Transport Aggregation Points (TAP) to support 5G servicesEngineer IP (L2/L3) and routing of the spine/leaf network configuration using automated systems and Methods of Procedure (MOPs)Review and correct MOPs/automation templates with peersUnderstand new and changing design models and templates for new application versions, migrations, and deploymentsProvide feedback to automation teams on workflow updatesEngineer network solutions with strong interaction between application teams, design, and the network management centerWork with underlay and overlay controllers for network creation, modeling, and deploymentsOversee network builds from procurement to "In Service"Ensure new networks meet key performance indicators (KPIs)Understand end-to-end call flows for deploying network servicesManage network engineering projects to deliver on timeProvide project oversight and ownershipRequirements:Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experienceExperience with IP Layer 1-3 (IPv4/IPv6) for Edge Networks and strong knowledge of VXLAN and/or fabric networkingHands-on experience with deploying network configurations for virtualized servicesExperience building MOPs or leveraging automated configuration tools for network deploymentsHands-on experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and OSPF or IS-ISCisco (CCIE) or Nokia networking certificationsFour or more years of relevant work experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience with Cisco (VTS), Nokia (Nuage), or Itential (IAP) automation toolsWork Schedule:Daytime work with occasional nighttime maintenance window workEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
