client has created a company culture of excellence by valuing the contribution of diverse voicesCompensation - $160,000 - $175,000We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering with deep expertise in combustion technology and commercial food service equipment. This role will lead and oversee the engineering team to drive innovation and continuous improvement in the design, development, and manufacturing of our automatic broilers. The Director of Engineering will be a key leader in shaping the product roadmap and ensuring the delivery of high-performance, reliable equipment to our global customers.What you'll be doing:Lead and manage the engineering department, including mechanical, electrical, and design engineers.Oversee the design and development of commercial broilers with a focus on combustion systems and energy efficiency.Provide technical leadership in the design and application of combustion technologies to meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product quality, reliability, and manufacturing processes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, product management, and operations to align engineering objectives with business goals.Ensure product compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for commercial food service equipment.Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to evaluate materials, components, and processes that enhance product performance and cost-effectiveness.Stay current with industry trends and advancements in combustion and energy-efficient technologies to ensure they remains at the forefront of the market.Support customer-facing activities including product demonstrations, troubleshooting, and technical expertise for major accounts and key partners.What you bring:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in commercial food service equipment or related industries.Proven expertise in combustion technology, thermal dynamics, and energy efficiency as applied to commercial equipment.Experience in managing complex engineering projects from concept through production.Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements for food service equipment.Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.Passion for innovation and delivering high-quality, reliable products to customers.What you can expect:We believe that the right job can change a life, and the right talent can transform a company.
