We are currently hiring for an MEP Designer to support a reputable A&E firm in the Columbus Metropolitan area. As an MEP Designer, you will focus on commercial building projects, working within the Building Systems group. You will report to a Licensed Project Lead Engineer and take direction to support in a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design/engineering capacity. You will be responsible for the technical content of building projects and manage all steps of the project process, utilizing AutoCAD and Revit design software to produce construction documents for commercial buildings, primarily retail clients. Additionally, you will complete preliminary calculations within HVAC, ventilation, electrical, plumbing sanitary, and water supply systems.
Responsibilities
Support the Lead Engineer in a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design/engineering capacity.
Take responsibility for the technical content of building projects and manage all steps of the project process.
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit design software to produce construction documents for commercial buildings.
Complete preliminary calculations within HVAC, ventilation, electrical, plumbing sanitary, and water supply systems.
Work on a variety of project types including government, education, healthcare, parks & recreations.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
Experience in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, HVAC design, plumbing design, and building design.
Knowledge of building codes and engineering calculations.
Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent experience.
3 years of on-the-job experience as a Mechanical Engineer/Designer or Electrical Engineer/Designer for building systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to learn and train within all disciplines of MEP engineering if not already well-versed.
Experience in producing construction documents for commercial building projects or retail projects.
Not job-hopping.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm. The position offers a hybrid schedule with office work on Monday and Wednesday, and remote work on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
