We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Electronic Park Brake (EPB) System Integration Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end integration of EPB systems into various vehicle platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the EPB systems meet all performance, safety, and regulatory standards, enhancing overall vehicle safety and functionality.

Responsibilities

System Integration: Lead the integration of EPB systems into vehicle platforms, ensuring seamless interaction with other braking and electronic systems. Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to integrate EPB hardware and software components efficiently.Design: Work with the design and development engineers throughout the engineering organization to ensure park brake functions and components have appropriate requirements and interface definition to achieve their specific vehicle functions.Software and Controls Development: Support development of EPB motor actuation and clampingCalibration and Tuning: Develop and fine-tune calibration parameters to optimize EPB performance, including actuation force, response time, and user comfort. Conduct in-depth calibration of system settings to ensure reliable performance across various vehicle models and operating conditions.Provide technical expertise during the development and integration phases to address any challenges related to EPB systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues during system integration and vehicle testing phases, ensuring timely and effective solutions.Functional Safety: Participate in functional safety and failure avoidance analysis of complex electrical and software vehicle subsystems (HARA, FMEAs, etc.).Testing and Validation: Design and implement comprehensive test plans for EPB systems, encompassing both laboratory and on-road testing scenarios. Perform detailed analysis of test data to identify and resolve performance issues, ensuring robust system functionality.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with vehicle dynamics, safety, and control systems teams to align EPB integration with overall vehicle performance objectives. Participate in design reviews, offering technical insights and recommendations to support EPB system integration.Compliance and Safety: Ensure EPB systems comply with all relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement fail-safe mechanisms to maintain basic parking brake functions in case of system failures.Continuous Improvement: Stay current with advancements in EPB technology and apply innovative solutions to improve system integration processes. Propose and implement enhancements to boost the reliability, performance, and user experience of EPB systems.Documentation and Reporting: Write system requirements, document all integration and calibration processes, test results, and system configurations. Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders and management to showcase progress and maturity at various program milestones.

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Embedded SystemsStrong Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineering fundamentals5+ years of experience in automotive engineering with a focus on chassis systems.Proven experience in integrating and calibrating EPBs or similar automotive control systems.5+ years of experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN & Automotive EthernetProficiency in using calibration tools and software (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, CANalyzer).Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, emerging chassis system technologies, software/hardware tool development, brakes and steering system calibration, functional safety, network and diagnostics process.5+ years of experience designing and developing safety-critical architectures3+ years of experience using embedded networking interface tools for automotive or similar5+ year of experience in designing and launching new embedded products (concept to production)Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Willingness to travel for testing and collaboration with other teams.Valid driver's license and the ability to drive test vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications :

M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Embedded SystemsProven technical expertise in Chassis Systems Design and controls strategies understanding of the intricacies of the subsystemProficiency in fundamentals of vehicle architecture, embedded systems design, RTOSes and real-time networkingExperiencing designing and evaluating functional safety concepts in the brakes, steering, and traction control domainsExperience in leading product development from concept to deploymentStrong written and verbal communication skillsAn eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing teamA systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement

Estimated Min Rate : $60.00Estimated Max Rate : $80.00
