Responsibilities
Basic Purpose
Provides direct oversight of the company’s program with emphasis on compliance with NERC O&P
Reliability Standards. Ensures program documentation, training and processes are standardized, communicated, and understood by program participants. Manages day-today communication of O&P program activities. Ensures all instances of compliance concern are identified, investigated, documented, and corrective actions plans are completed. Provides support to business units as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees day-to-day O&P Program activities
Develops, initiates, and maintains policies and procedures for the management and operation of the NERC O&P program and its related activities, in accordance with the NERC and other applicable federal and state compliance related laws.Oversees enterprise-wide processes, procedures and controls related to NERC compliance and works with directors and managers across the organization to ensure regulatory compliance requirements are met.Oversees the administration and tracking of activities related to NERC compliance, including periodic certifications, self-reports, external audits by third-party agencies and internal audits.Coordinates and reviews all NERC compliance related training, including electronic based training.Manages the O&P Compliance analysts and engineers.Conducts Root Cause Analysis as required to address potential compliance issues
Establishes effective communications with directors and managers to identify potential areas of NERC compliance vulnerability and risk to ensure that ethical behavior and legal/regulatory compliance requirements are met.Provides guidance to business units in their development and implementation of corrective action plans for resolution of potential concerns and enhancement of compliance and ethical behavior.Assists company leaders in the creation of auditable documentation, policies, and procedures.Reviews the efforts of company compliance leaders and outside auditors and counsel.Manages the day-to-day maintenance and operation of procedures and systems for more efficient tracking, documentation, and notification related to the following Company NERC compliance processes
Revisions and publication of NVE’s NERC Compliance PlansRevisions and publication of NVE’s NERC Compliance PoliciesPlans, directs, coordinates, and leads activities of project teams to ensure that goals, objectives and all related deliverables are accomplished to achieve successful outcomes for the company within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters
Identifies and manages the project scope and objectives of assigned projects as well as the function of each team member recruited to deliver the project.Provides leadership, of assembled matrixed project teams, required for development of detailed project plans and ensures plans, actions, assignments, team responsibilities, milestone dates and overall strategies are clearly stated.Development and Interpretation 10%
Provides support to business units on compliance interpretations through communication with the Regional Entity (WECC), NERC, Berkshire Hathaway Energy platforms, or other regional utilities.Facilitates company efforts in providing commentary and voting on NERC and WECC Reliability Standards in development based upon business unit inputMonitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Essential Education, Skills, and EnvironmentBachelor’s degree from an accredited school in business administration, engineering, or related field and 4 years of related NERC compliance or utility experience.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 8 years of related NERC compliance or utility experience.
Specialized Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrated knowledge of:
The utility business and operational practices; NERC reliability standards.Applicable federal, state and local governmental laws and regulations.Skills such as:
Analytical, interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.Project management and leadership; including working as a team member.Working with all organizational levels to influence actions and negotiate outcomes.Internal controls development, implementation and testing.Critical thinking, decision-making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills.Equipment and ApplicationsPCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.

Annual Salary: $115,900 (Min) to $136,300 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.Benefits
