Responsibilities
Basic PurposeServes as a subject matter expert on natural resource issues and activities, support of land use permit processes, and compliance with land use permit requirements. Provides technical direction and support to all functional groups of the Company. Responds to wildlife and other environmental issues related to Company facilities and projects.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesServes as an environmental subject matter expert on internal and external interdisciplinary teams in planning, permitting, and constructing Company projects.Coordinates with resources specialists from various federal agencies (e.g., BLM, USFS, NPS, etc.) throughout land permitting processes and with compliance requirements on projects before, during and after construction.Prepares and submits environmental permit applications to state agencies, as applicable.Contracts and manages third party environmental consultants to work with federal agency environmental staff in the development and preparation of environmental analysis documents pursuant to NEPA, ESA and NHPA regulations, which includes conducting all natural resource surveys, reports, plans and other documents as directed by the federal agencies.Contracts and manages third party environmental consultants to execute pre-construction, construction, and post-construction environmental compliance requirements.Prepares project-specific environmental awareness training materials, such as desert tortoise resources and mitigation requirements.Developing scope and budget estimates for environmental activities during project planning stages and defines timelines for environmental activities specific to each project.Responds and mobilizes emergency action responses to Company facilities or field locations for environmental issues including collection and transportation of live/injured/dead sensitive animal species, assessing environmental impacts and requirements during emergency electrical facility repair on federal lands, and other call outs that requires the knowledge and expertise of a Company environmental scientist or third party environmental consultant acting on behalf and under management of a Company environmental scientist.Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes, and regulations applicable to position and company.

Essential Education, Skills, and EnvironmentEducation and Work Experience
.Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in the area of specialty and 6 years of related experience.Specialized Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrated knowledge of:Cultural resource regulationsApplicable state and federal environmental permit regulationsDemonstrated skills such as:Interpersonal and communication skillsDeveloping and maintaining federal, state and local agency relationships.Time management.Equipment and ApplicationsPCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.Work Environment and Physical DemandsGeneral office environment. Ability to walk/hike in remote areas to identify plants and wildlife.Compensation
Annual Salary: $100,700 (Min) to $118,400 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.Benefits
