The Packaging Lead assumes a lead role in the the day to day activities of the packaging lines and ensures consistent quality andefficient operations of the packaging line machinery within the packaging department. Leads, motivates and ensures proper trainingof staff in the department, addresses concerns and/or escalates issues to management as needed. The Packaging Lead coordinatesand participates in all aspects of the packaging process including machine operation, documentation and the implementation ofproduct specifications. Ensures that machines are set-up properly and are properly staffed in order to produce product in the mostefficient manner. The Packaging Lead is also responsible for ensuring that product is available to run as well as ensuring thatpackaging materials are in place and is responsible for the efficient running of multiple machines within the assigned department.

Estimated starting annual base salary is $26.50 hour per less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide leadership and guidance to employees in the department including training, performance management and dailyscheduling.Ensure staff are using safe and proper procedures to operate all machinery.Ensure staff understand and follow Company standards of quality and produce quality items.Ensure adherence to the Company policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safety, proper attire andpersonal protective equipment.Ensure that all necessary paperwork for production runs is completed on a daily basis.Coordinate and ensure completion of all trainings for Operator team including operations, safety and quality.Coordinate staff across all packaging lines to achieve the most efficient production runs. Ensure proper headcount at alltimes.Coordinate with fellow team leaders if people are available while lines are down or if additional people are required to staffpackage lines.Collaborate with the Production Supervisor and Manager to schedule maintenance, sanitation and complete work orders.Work with Production Supervisor and Manager to ensure adequate product and packaging for efficient runs and thatproduct run on time in order to maintain schedule.Oversee change over, change of film, verification of packaging specifications and other related activities.Use safe and proper procedures to operate machinery.Identify and lead improvements to increase efficiencies and reduce waste.Follow and lead improvements to written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork for production runs on a daily basis.Assist in projecting manufactured inventories for the packaging lines.Assist in coordinating with the other departments within manufacturing area to ensure sufficient product levels.Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.Four years' experience in manufacturing.Three years' experience in packaging machine operation with mastery of all functions on all packaging lines.Proven leadership and employee training skills.Solid reading comprehension, decision-making, teamwork, time-management, analytical and mechanical skills.Proficiency with production management software.Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook.Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requiresstanding, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/ormove up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
