IT Software Engineer 3 at Idaho Division of Human Resources in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description IT Software Engineer 3 Posting Begin Date: 2024/10/08 Posting End Date: 2024/11/05 Category: IT And Computers Sub Category: Software Work Type: Full Time Location: Boise, ID, United States Minimum Salary: 32.74 Maximum Salary: 32.74 Pay Rate Type: Hourly Description Tax Commission Career Opportunity The Idaho State Tax Commission is seeking an experienced Software Engineer 3 who is a motivated self-starter to provide complex data analysis and design, software programming, and technical support. The incumbent will analyze user needs, design new, and/or modify current applications systems; define system requirements and perform related work. This position will report to the Technical Support Bureau in the Property Tax Division. The Technical Support Bureau provides software and technical support to county Assessors and Treasurers in Idaho. RPG/ILE skills would be highly preferred, but not required. The position is in the Boise Office in the Chinden Campus, 11321 West Chinden Blvd, Building 2. Minimum salary is $32.74 per hour, rate of pay will depend on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities: + Provide complex data and application analysis, design and development + Apply technical knowledge to identify and solve complex data and software problems + Work with end users to identify software requirements and solutions + Train staff and county users on the use of supported applications + May direct and mentor junior level developers in the best design process and development strategies Minimum Qualifications: + Considerable knowledge of programming languages and software development tool suites (At least two years of work experience using programming languages and software development tools OR completion of at least one course of classroom instruction at an accredited college or vocational-tech level directly related to least one programming language and software development tool suites and at least 18 months of work experience using programming languages and software development tools) + + Considerable knowledge of data architecture, software architecture, common software design patterns, and development and testing practices (At least five years of work experience using data architecture, software architecture, common software design patterns, development, and testing practices. OR completion of a master's degree in an information technology discipline or equivalent from an accredited college OR completion of a bachelor's degree in an information technology discipline or equivalent from an accredited college AND at least two years of work experience using data architecture, software architecture, common software design patterns, development, and testing practices) + + Considerable knowledge of programming languages and software development tool suites (At least two years of work experience using programming languages and software development tools OR completion of at least one course of classroom instruction at an accredited college or vocational-tech level directly related to least one programming language and software development tool suites and at least 18 months of work experience using programming languages and software development tools) + + At least 2 years of experience that included each of the following: + Creating, interpreting, and documenting user requirements + Analyzing development solutions to show costs and benefits + Deploying production systems + Establishing and defining architecture and development standards Desirable qualifications:Experience working with the RPG programming language.
