We sincerely hope you will consider being a part of Information Technology Services success Information Technology Services (ITS), currently has multiple openings for IT Software Engineer III positions at our Chinden Office in Boise. These positions will provide software development services within the ITS software development team, developing a wide range of applications in support of state agency missions. The selected individuals must possess an in-depth knowledge of mainstream software development methods within a variety of development environments to produce quality software applications and tools. These positions will be experts in software development, deployment, and management, including the ability to create and maintain extensive software documentation and interpret user and system requirements to produce professional level software. Please note: The successful candidates will be required to pass a comprehensive fingerprint-based background check specific to the agencies ITS supports. Example of Duties + Develops and delivers software applications from complex requirements documentation to meet agency and business needs; + Manages software deployments, upgrades, and troubleshoots software applications; + Develops, produces, and maintains source code, development documentation, software requirement documents and works within the software development process; + Develops software requirements; + Develops software tools and a variety of scripts to create efficiencies and automate processes; + Undertakes code reviews. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Considerable knowledge of data architecture, software architecture, common software design patterns, development, and testing practices. Typically gained by at least a bachelor's degree in an information technology discipline or equivalent from an accredited college AND at least two years of work experience using data architecture, software architecture, common software design patterns, development, and testing practices OR a master's degree in an information technology discipline or equivalent from an accredited college OR at least five years of work experience using data architecture, software architecture, common software design patterns, development, and testing practices. + Considerable knowledge of programming languages and software development tool suites. Typically gained by at least one course of classroom instruction at an accredited college or vocational-tech level directly related to least one programming language and software development tool suites and at least 18 months of work experience using programming languages and software development tools OR at least two years of work experience using programming languages and software development tools. + Experience creating, interpreting, and documenting user requirements. Typically gained by at least two years of work experience on more than one development project. + Analyzing development solutions to show costs and benefits. Typically gained by at least two years of work experience analyzing development solutions to show costs and benefits. + Coding, testing, and deploying production systems. Typically gained by at least two years of work experience testing and deploying production systems. + Establishing and defining architecture and development standards. Typically gained by at least two years of work experience establishing and defining architecture and development standards. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Strong knowledge and experience in software development languages and frameworks such as: C#, .NET Core, .NET MVC, Java, HTML5, SQL, or JavaScript; + Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs; + Experience working with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks, such as Entity Framework Core; + Experience developing in Power Platform, ServiceNow, Salesforce, or other low code platforms is desirable.
