POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Systems and Support is responsible for strategically and operationally managing the organization's business application systems, underlying data flows, and ongoing system support. This hands-on role leads and mentors team software development and support members and internal customers. In addition to technical acumen, it requires strong analytical skills, a commitment to delivering quality solutions on time and on budget, excellent communications and collaboration skills and a curiosity for new insights and opportunities. The Director, Systems and Support works closely with the Vice President of Technology and Analytics in creating the solution roadmap and associated budgeting.

This role is highly visible inside and outside the organization and builds alignment around system and support initiatives. It is responsible for articulating the value and capabilities of the technology group to internal clients, owning escalations, marshalling cross-departmental resources, and ensuring projects are delivered with a high degree of measurable satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

SystemsDirect all aspects and provide in-depth technical expertise for:

New system selection and implementationData interfaces, integration, and migration efforts between or across systems as well as seamless data extractions

Drive improvements and map overall internal systems and processes.Manage and oversee systems after implementation has been completed, handling:

Ongoing support requestsBug reportsImprovement requests

Serve as system administrator for systems, including:

Create and document setting and parameter updates.Manage access to systems: security roles, role assignment, and single sign-on.Maintain recurring jobs.Provide emergency support and coordinate fixes.

Maintain documentation about key systems and the integrations between them.Drive adoption of technologies across the business including training efforts.Lead all activities related to the design, planning, implementation, and administration of all PBSd systems and related solutions, including upgrade planning and patch management, systems testing and QA, backup, and recovery.Remain abreast of emerging tactics, techniques, and procedures by attending partner and industry events.Support

Manage internal and external support requests for PBSd systems:

Triage tickets, backlogging or escalating as appropriate.Assign appropriate internal or external resources.Ensure solutions are consistent with existing processes and properly implemented.

Provide hands-on database management support including database installations, configuration, upgrades, data recovery and technical support.Partner with impacted parts of the business (Finance, Accounting, Production, Operations, etc.) to implement new processes, functionality, and ongoing efficiency improvements as well as support requests and identifies efficiencies to improve the support process.Collaborate with appropriate external partners to configure systems as needed to support business process changes or requirements, including coordinating UAT and release dates for new modules, third party integrations and upgrades.Development

Manage and oversee development during all relevant phases, including scoping, story creation, ongoing requests, bug fixes, and improvement requests.Train staff on necessary technological best practices applicable for the project or task.Author and maintain documentation for development efforts in the company knowledge base.Lead developers to architect appropriate solutions for new development projects.Team Management

Lead the Systems and Support department and functions ensuring effective talent management.Mentor, develop, and empower department team members, promoting a culture of collaboration (within team as well as cross-functional teams)-, inclusiveness, continuous learning, and professional growthWORK EXPERIENCE

10+ years of technical experience either in two or more of the following areas: operations support, development, engineering, architectureExperience managing software development and support teamsExperience with Microsoft dev stack, SQL Server, Git, C++, AWS, APIs, and SAAS SystemsExperience with D365 strongly preferredSKILLS

Proven track record of building, developing, mentoring, and leading technology teamsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to effectively communicate with a wide range of technical staff and non-technical staffStrong attention-to-detail, analytical, and organizational skillsAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced ever-changing environmentStrong collaboration and relationship-building skillsEDUCATION & TRAINING

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or Management
