Job Description

Course Developer Duties:Design assigned course content for the HOPE master's degree in collaboration with the program director, program faculty, and instructional designers. The work should meet KU standards for competency-based education and all requirements for credit bearing offerings.

Write content competencies.Develop performance indicators for competencies.Select content readings and learning materials for student use.Write assessments for the competencies and rubrics to assist in grading.Design and review course management modules to deliver the curriculum to the student.Adapt curriculum and assessments in response to feedback from the HOPE program director, other faculty, and instructional designer.

Collaborate with HOPE faculty and instructional designers to design the sequencing of competencies in the degree.

Review degree competencies and participate in discussions on sequences to promote student learning.Adjust in curriculum to accommodate sequences.

Adapt curriculum for delivery as graduate courses and in competency-based format.Meet time deadlines for development as defined by the program director.Attend curriculum meetings.Adhere to departmental, college and university policies.

Required Qualifications

Evaluation of the following requirements will be made through (1) descriptions of work experience and educational experiences in letter of application, (2) record of accomplishments and productivity addressed in C.V., and (3) information provided from professional references.A master's degree in a field related to the curriculum area.Five years of work experience related to the curriculum area.Preferred Qualifications

PhD in a related fieldTeaching experience at the higher education level

Position Overview

The Human and Organizational Performance Effectiveness master's degree is being developed by the School of Professional Studies at the University of Kansas to be offered beginning in 2025-2026 academic year. The degree will be offered with regular hybrid classes and also in a competency-based version. We seek content experts to develop curriculum for the degree and to participate in teaching and assessment activities. Curriculum areas include organizational effectiveness, employee selection, employee onboarding, instructional design, assessment and evaluation, performance management and resource utilization. This position serves the educational needs of a JCERT program. Specific percentages of effort for JCERT are determined each year.

Application materials will be reviewed by the faculty and placed in a pool for consideration for developing and/or teaching courses consistent with departmental instructional needs.

The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins.
