DescriptionProject Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.The Senior Manager for ASIC Technical Program Manager will play a pivotal role in definition and delivery of Kuiper ASIC products that will meet customer needs in the various segments. The right candidate must have demonstrated experience with advanced ASIC and software product development within consumer, commercial or telecommunications domains.Key job responsibilitiesManage a team of ASIC Technical Program Managers, and be responsible successful deliveries.Be responsible for the ASIC TPM teams development and growth.Coordinate with stakeholders, hardware, software engineering teams to develop product strategy, long-term roadmap, business and production requirements and features for ASICs that will meet cost, performance, reliability and customer experience needs.Project management of development and delivery in collaboration with cross-functional project teams.Collaborate with development and supply chain leadership to identify third party partners.Collaborate with engineering leaders (SOC / ASIC leads) to create project execution plans for ASIC/FPGA development considering all criteria to design products the meet the power/performance and functional specs for all use conditions.Drive best Program Management practices for the team and organization at large.Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing prioritiesWork with product/program management leads to ensure that the ASIC development meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements.Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-off recommendations, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, firmware, packaging and PCB teams on ensuring cross-functional deliverables are identified and tracked.Work with external IP and silicon vendors and partners to complete the execution of projects in time.Export Control Requirement:Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.About the teamIn this role, you and your team will collaborate with various teams (e.g. ASIC, antenna, firmware, software, electrical engineering, test, supply chain etc.) to develop program plans and execute against the plans to ensure that the ASICs meet schedule, cost, and quality requirements. This role communicates with clarity on the development status, inter-dependencies, and the next steps across the significant number of stakeholders and partnering team. You will navigate through ambiguity and manage project delivery in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Because Kuiper is inventing new technologies for our customers, we understand that working through ambiguity is a part of our work days. This role requires leveraging industry knowledge, exercising good engineering judgement, and joining a highly motivated and working hard to deliver Kuiper service to our customers.Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in EE/CSE, or related field, or equivalent experience.- 3+ years managing a team of Technical Program Managers.- 7+ years of Technical Program Management experience leading cross functional programs with aggressive schedules- 5+ years of ASIC/SOC design and/or management experience- 5+ years of project/program management and experience with schedule tracking tools such as MS Project, SmartSheet, and Jira.Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in EE/CSE.- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Track record of successfully delivering complete systems (hardware, firmware, software, algorithms) on time, to scope, with high quality.- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.- Maturity, judgment, and proven ability to lead and influence others.- Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with engineers, business owners, and senior business leaders.- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.- Experience developing ASICs for aerospace applications or systems operating in extreme environments- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals- Track record for being detail-orientedAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
