Neutron will be our next rocket on the launch pad, an advanced 13-tonne payload class, reusable rocket to launch the mega constellations of the future.Join our pioneering team and launch your career to new heights!SOFTWARE ENGINEER II - OPERATIONS SOFTWAREBased onsite at Rocket Lab's global headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Software Engineer II on the operations software team is responsible for developing and maintaining software that provides display, capture & management of telemetry data, and commanding to enable Electron, Neutron, and Photon testing and mission operations. You will support the Operations Software Team and Terrestrial Software organization, with developing and maintaining software required to ensure mission success.WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:Develop and maintain software to ingest, process and store telemetry data.Develop and maintain user-facing software that is used to launch rockets and perform on-orbit operations for spacecraft.Perform independent engineering as allocated and may have product ownership as a responsible engineer.Develop documentation for operation of software products.Coordinate with stakeholders.YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:2+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, OR equivalent years of experience (6+ years of total work experience).Experience in Golang Development.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.Must be physically able to commute to buildings.Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and moderate levels of noise.Base Pay Range (CA Only)$48 — $67 USDWHAT TO EXPECTWe’re on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that’s not an easy task.
