Annual Salary Range:
$57,750 (minimum) - $60,638 (maximum).

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Partners Global is seeking a
Program Associate (Associate)
for the anticipated USAID
Powered by the People
(PxP) activity. This five-year $45M program is intended to provide direct and accessible support that addresses the needs, opportunities, and challenges identified by activists and other allied civic actors engaged in nonviolent collective action, strengthening the agency, resiliency, and efficacy of activists and people powered nonviolent social movements (NVSMs) that advance human rights, social justice, democracy, and inclusive development within a cohesive global social movement ecosystem.
Working under general supervision, the Associate will execute a wide variety of programmatic support services and administrative tasks to support the operations, finance, and program team with regards to day-to-day implementation and general administration of the PxP activity. The Associate may serve as an administrative backstop for the teams during temporary absences or exigencies of service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Operations Support
Serve as point of coordination for monitoring and expedition of project implementation activities, including liaising with diverse organizational units to initiate requests; drafting general project descriptions for various written products and other materials; processing and ensuring follow-up on administrative actions; and resolving issues related to project implementation, authorization of payments, disbursement of funds, procurement of equipment and services, etc.
Draft and maintain project-related documents, including quarterly and final reports to donors, project workplans, and communications materials.
Support the planning, organization, and coordination of PxP events and activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Finance
Work closely with finance team counterparts on monitoring project budgets, including entering projections vs. actuals; performing administrative tasks related to forecasting and recasting (not including financial analysis); supporting preparation of budget modifications (e.g., realignments, cost, and no-cost extensions); producing invoices; reviewing monthly financial reports; preparing advance requests, wire requests, travel authorizations and expense reports.
With support and supervision, liaise with operations and finance teams to verify that fiscal and performance activities follow
Partners Global policies and procedures as well as funder regulations; elevates compliance issues to the supervisor for response and any necessary action(s).
Assist in the preparation and analysis of program/project budget proposals; aids with budget guidelines, with supervisor retaining responsibility for interpretation oversight.
Relationship Management
Support effective relations and coordination with local implementing organizations and project partners, organizing monthly project check-ins, applying effective problem-solving skills when faced with challenges related to implementation and/or contextual factors.
Support review and processing of implementing partner organization financial and technical reports.
Participate and contribute to meetings with donors to inform them on project implementation.
Knowledge Sharing
Contributes to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
Provide guidance to interns under general supervision of the Director/Intern Supervisor and provide assistance with recruitment, development opportunities, and tasks.
Other Support Tasks
Organize logistics and travel.
Maintain files for sub-grants and contracts by making edits/updates to packages and ensuring original packages are stored for future reference, monitoring administrative requirements and compliance with
Partners Global and funder requirements.
Other Duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
1-3 years related experience in supporting development and/or peacebuilding projects.
Excellent oral and writing skills with ability to express complex ideas clearly.
Ability to analyze, organize, problem-solve, manage, and prioritize work. Proactively identifies needs and solutions.
Demonstrated knowledge and competency in one or more of
Partners’
program areas (e.g., organizational development, conflict resolution, civil society, good governance and rule of law, human rights, women’s empowerment). Demonstrated knowledge of and/or interest in social movements is a plus.
High level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with U.S. and foreign national staff and civil society, government, and the private sector actors.
Proven team player with the skills and ability to form positive relations with colleagues.
Education and Language
Bachelor’s Degree in international relations, regional studies, or related subject pertaining to international development, peacebuilding, etc. or 1-3 years of related experience.
Full professional fluency in written and spoken English.
