Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Director, Student Center Operation for the department of Student Affairs – Student Centers and Activities. Reporting to the Executive Director for Student Centers and Activities, the Director has responsibilities for providing leadership, management, and oversight for planning, organizing, coordinating, evaluating and directing operations, facilities, services, staff, contracted vendors, tenant relationships, information desk, event management, and budgets of the 6 Student Centers and 1 ancillary building (31 Postal Plaza). In addition, the Director is a senior member of the leadership team, supports and directs effective assessment, development, and implementation of policies, standards, learning outcomes, strategic initiatives, and project prioritization for the Student Center Unit. Through positive role modeling, actions, decisions, supervision, and coaching, assists in ensuring the Student Center Unit Service Standards are consistently applied.Responsible for the overall leadership and direction for the Student Center unit.Oversee the direction, management, and evaluation of all facility functions and staff.Ensure the spaces and services within the Centers accommodate, facilitate, and support students and organizations.Oversight of the Rutgers Zone in the Livingston Student Center.Hire, supervise, manage, coach, and evaluate professional staff.Supervise professional staff responsible for the day-to-day management of the Centers.Manage a Student Center Operations budget of over $1M.Serve as the departmental expert on operational procedures and policies.Work with Institutional Planning and Operations in managing capital improvement projects.Develop and implement the training model for student staff.Oversee the recruitment for over 350+ students employed within the department.Maintain oversight for all processes including initial onboarding and terminations.Oversee the administration of the Federal Work Study Program.Assess and evaluate the student employment program and student center operations.Provide leadership in department-wide assessment.Collaborate regularly with other divisional and university departments.Position Status

Minimum Education and Experience:Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel Higher Education Administration, or related field.Minimum of 5+ years of experience in student unions/activities or student affairs.Certifications/Licenses:Valid Driver’s License.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent administrative and communication skills.Proven successful experience working with diverse groups.Experience in recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring teams.Proficiency in event management software.Posting Number:
