Central Support’s Data & Insights team’s mission is to provide exceptional cutting-edge analytics and meaningful insights to empower our Commercial organization to thrive and achieve unparalleled success. We do that by enhancing the trust and confidence in the data and analytics within Commercial, reducing barriers to insights and integrating advanced capabilities into business and decision processes.

On the business intelligence side of analytics, our team leverages knowledge and experience in business analysis, data mining, data analysis, and visualization to develop analytics solutions for critical business challenges. This position is responsible for using a combination of business acumen and analytical skills to identify, prioritize, and solve high-impact business problems providing descriptive and diagnostic insights into what happened and why it happened. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, cleansing, combining, visualizing, and analyzing data from a variety of sources to obtain actionable business insights. In addition, they must effectively communicate the results to managers, project stakeholders, and engineering teams. This team partners with the IT Innovation and Analytics team to create predictive and prescriptive data.

Findlay, OH location preferred; however, all other MPC locations will be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Acquires, cleans and preprocesses raw data from various sources to ensure accuracy and reliability; maintains knowledge of key systems and queries those systems for data.

Conducts in-depth analysis of large datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends

Develops and implements analytical models to forecast future trends and outcomes

Develops and performs statistical analysis to identify patterns and correlations in the data

Creates visually compelling and easy-to-understand dashboards and reports

Communicates findings to stakeholders through charts, graphs, and presentations

Ensures integrity and quality of data through regular audits and validation processes

Works closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver insights

Drive continuous improvement and defect elimination in organization using data insights

Establishes and supports data governance to ensure data is fit for optimum use by the organization

Partners and leads initiatives to build sustainable data pipelines, automations, and advanced analytics solutions

Understands strategic business objectives and work with business partners to economically justify and develop plans to create the necessary business insights.

Utilizes a combination of business acumen and technical knowledge to identify, prioritize, and solve high-impact business problems.

Translates complicated analysis results into relevant business messages. Effectively communicate results to project stakeholders and business teams.

Develops a working knowledge in other technical areas that are relevant to arriving at the appropriate solution to the business.

Develops the expertise needed to participate in walk-throughs with other staff to verify the completeness, accuracy and efficiency with respect to both the design, development, and maintenance of analytics solutions.

Develops the interpersonal skills needed to function effectively as a member of a project team and to educate business partners on the use of analytics.

Leads and manages analytical projects from conceptual through execution.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Data Analyst:

Bachelor’s degree required

Two (2) years of experience required.

Senior Data Analyst:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Four (4) years of experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A passion for empirical research and answering difficult questions with data.

Experience with a data analysis effort: identifying data sources, querying data, performing exploratory data analysis/modeling, presenting historical insights/business justification, and effecting data-driven business change.

Experience with manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensional data from varying sources.

Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.

Experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches.

Ability to generate positive business results via analytics techniques.

A flexible analytic approach that provides results at varying levels of precision.

Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
