Job Description SummaryThe Senior Legal Counsel (L27) role is focused on supporting all teams responsible for all US buy now, pay later product offerings. This support includes providing guidance from inception of an initiative through its planning, development, preparedness, and launch, and then carrying through post launch for all aspects of the product lifecycle pre-collections.

Qualifications and Experience
Significant expertise in legal issues arising in credit and lending, buy now pay later products, financial services, consumer protection, and marketing.
Significant expertise and prior experience in state laws governing consumer credit installment products, including licensing related topics.
Significant expertise and prior experience in federal laws and regulations affecting payments and consumer protection.
Experience dealing with regulatory bodies, regulatory exams, internal and third-party audits.
Experience supporting compliance and risk teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to tolerate change and ambiguity.
Ability and drive to take ownership of projects and tasks.
Openness to adapting practice in response to the changing landscape of the industry.
Strong proficiency in working with a team-based approach to subject matter management.
Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
7 or more years of relevant experience practicing either in-house or at a reputable law firm.
Juris Doctorate or equivalent degree. Admitted to a state bar and in good standing.
Exceptional writing skills, with strong attention to detail.
Outstanding communication skills and ability to work both in teams and independently.
Ability to effectively synthesize and explain complex legal requirements.
PayPal is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual Compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to work location, and relevant skills and experience.
The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $99300 to $216040.
Work ModelPayPal's balanced hybrid work model offers 3 days in the office for effective in-person collaboration and 2 days at your choice of either the PayPal office or your home workspace.
