WORK SHIFT:First Shift (United States of America)JOB DESCRIPTION:The Payroll Supervisor will oversee and supervise the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations at all levels of federal, state, and local entities. The supervisor will coordinate payroll activities, collaborate with human resources and accounting departments, train, direct, and supervise payroll staff, and ensure efficient payroll processing.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSManage and timely process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.Manage payroll team members' performance and train new staff.Maintain payroll records and ensure data integrity.Resolve any issues related to payroll promptly.Prepare and submit payroll reports to management.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.Maintain compliance with state payroll and payroll withholding guidelines for each state where the Company has employees.Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.Conduct regular audits of payroll procedures and records to ensure data integrity and accuracy.Attend training sessions regularly to stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.Supervise Payroll Administrator and Payroll Accountant.Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires and terminations.Create and maintain timekeeping written policies.Conduct training of managerial staff on all timekeeping obligations.Coordinate activities supporting required payroll and related benefits-related audits.Communicate with other company employees to answer any questions regarding payroll.Maintain the timekeeping system database.Maintain the privacy of payroll information and the database.Recommend improvements to business processes.Process all tasks related to employee garnishments.Record and post payroll entries to the General Ledger.Transmit all electronic files to outsourcing parties.Provide excellent customer service and adjust communication for all levels of the organization.Prepare documentation for any payroll-related audit or investigation.Analyze the data and ensure wage & tax compliance.Maintain all documentation related to the administration of the payroll software program.Research, analyze, and retrieve data to prepare and maintain complex payroll records, summaries, and reports.Work independently and as a team member, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual and dependable.Follow all safety procedures required in the work area.Perform effectively as a team member and treat everyone respectfully.Take ownership of work and behavior, accepting accountability for actions.Follow all department quality standards/criteria.Understand and demonstrate Cambro company culture and display company core values.Understand the department's key performance indicators and contribute to achieving these goals.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESThe payroll manager must have current knowledge of payroll responsibilities and sufficient wage and hour experience to train the less experienced team members. This person must demonstrate a solid understanding of all areas of payroll, including processing, reporting, systems, taxation of wages, wage and hour laws, time and attendance, garnishment processes, and operational best practices.Proven ability to manage complex payroll issues, conduct payroll audits, and implement corrective measures for compliance.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree with an emphasis in accounting or any combination of education, training, and/or 10+ years of experience in payroll processing and benefits experience.Must have 5+ years of supervisory experience.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.Ability to author routine reports and correspondence.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification required.Outstanding ability to comprehend and act on the organization's business practices and procedures.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAdvanced understanding of utilizing payroll database software, preferably Workday, Kronos, and ADP.Ability to solve practical problems in situations where only limited standardization exists.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
