DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS:Austin based Engen Contracting, Inc. (“ECI”), a commercial general contracting firm, looks to fill the position of Director of Construction Operations (DOCO).

Our team is not only accountable to ECI, but also to themselves and in turn are committed to excellence.This DOCO’s Essential Job Functions includes but is not limited to;Constantly promote the Core Values and Culture of ECI to the Team
Assists in evaluating prospective projects by assessing their compatibility to the organization
Review of various parts of the Pre-construction process, as needed, on certain projects
Representing the organization throughout the construction phase
Constant visibility and transparency with the Senior Leadership Team
Oversight and constant engagement of the Operations Team
Regular check-ins with the General Superintendent and focus those on the refinement of Safety and Project Scheduling
Regularly conduct ‘Stay Interviews’ with the Ops team
Hire and Fire responsibilities
Fingerprinting to the monthly Pay Applications
Responsible for the oversight as it pertains to the financial ‘well-being’ of active projects
Development of new vendor relationships while sustaining and nurturing existing ones.
Provides leadership to the operations group in the allocation of resources to ensure a high level of execution, organization, cooperation, communication, accuracy and managing the relationship and operational issues of all projects
Exhibit legendary customer service when communicating with clients, consultants, owners, and vendors but also to focus on productivity and results in a manner that builds up the team, ensures safety in all ways, promotes construction excellence, and fosters a team of problem solvers who demonstrate integrity.
Constant work on building and refining Operational Framework
This position reports directly to the VP of Construction. It is essential that the DOCO might be required to be a working teammate functioning as a project manager at some capacity in addition to their role as a business leader.Involvement in ECI’s memberships of construction related associations
