DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS:Austin based Engen Contracting, Inc. (“ECI”), a commercial general contracting firm, looks to fill the position of Director of Construction Operations (DOCO). ECI has a reputation for building sound commercial structures and prides itself in being known as That Partner who pushes towards the successful execution of projects. Our team is not only accountable to ECI, but also to themselves and in turn are committed to excellence.This DOCO’s Essential Job Functions includes but is not limited to:Constantly promote the Core Values and Culture of ECI to the TeamAssists in evaluating prospective projects by assessing their compatibility to the organizationReview of various parts of the Pre-construction process, as needed, on certain projectsRepresenting the organization throughout the construction phaseConstant visibility and transparency with the Senior Leadership TeamOversight and constant engagement of the Operations TeamRegular check-ins with the General Superintendent and focus those on the refinement of Safety and Project SchedulingRegularly conduct ‘Stay Interviews’ with the Ops teamHire and Fire responsibilitiesFingerprinting to the monthly Pay ApplicationsResponsible for the oversight as it pertains to the financial ‘well-being’ of active projectsDevelopment of new vendor relationships while sustaining and nurturing existing onesProvides leadership to the operations group in the allocation of resources to ensure a high level of execution, organization, cooperation, communication, accuracy and managing the relationship and operational issues of all projectsExhibit legendary customer service when communicating with clients, consultants, owners, and vendors but also to focus on productivity and results in a manner that builds up the team, ensures safety in all ways, promotes construction excellence, and fosters a team of problem solvers who demonstrate integrityConstant work on building and refining Operational FrameworkThis position reports directly to the VP of Construction.
