At AIML Special Projects group we want to make great products that empower people and improve their lives. Simulation is a critical tool to realize that mission. Some examples of projects that you would work on include, but are not limited to, validating simulation realism and measure sim-to-real gap. This team has a strong focus on shipping AIML-based features and products. Our ideal team member is fearless when it comes to trying new things and is willing to iterate on ideas. We value team members who can quickly prototype, iterating all the way to high-quality implementations. Moreover, we value team members who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization.DescriptionAs a member of this team, you will use your background to (but not be limited to):Collect product requirements and understanding all interactions which need to be modeled by simulatorDesign metrics that capture model realismDevelop a scalable pipeline to evaluate these metrics on a regular basisDesign ways to acquire reference data from the real worldReview and prototype algorithms, participate in periodic robotics and AIML research paper discussions and literature reviewMinimum QualificationsStrong and proven software development skills.Passion for software architecture, API design and developer experience.Strong Python and C++ development experience.Industry experience with statistical analysis.Track record of working cross-functionally to build strong partnerships amongst teams and individuals.BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.Preferred QualificationsExperience with large-scale simulation systemsExperience in data mining and data visualizationExperience with robotics, embodied AI, or LLMsExperience developing connected applications powered by large scale data storageAdditional RequirementsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
