JOB SUMMARY The Director of Business Operations & Analytics will report to the Associate Vice President, Academic and Clinical Operations and is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for Business Operations and Analytics. This role entails directing, coordinating, and overseeing business operations within the Academic Affairs. It will oversee critical projects within the School of Medicine, School of Health Professions, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health as well as partner with the UTSW Medical Group. The Director of Business Operations & Analytics will actively manage improvement objectives from Academic Affairs and the Medical Group to support the execution of goals.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Required Education Bachelor's Degree Master's Degree in business is strongly preferred. Experience 6 years of progressively responsible related experience in an academic medical center. Additional years of equivalent related experience may be used in lieu of stated degree requirement.
JOB DUTIES Responsible for the generation of analytical data to support strategic and operational decisions. Assist in the implementation of analytical projects assigned from leadership, including, but not limited to faculty salary planning, productivity analysis, research dashboards, space planning, financial analysis/reporting, and operational effectiveness. Oversee the academic business operations/business analytics teams, providing project management as well as supporting change management initiatives. Responsible for the advancement of various complex projects and development of programs that align with UTSW strategic goals. Collaborate with department administrators and business managers to ensure effective operational planning to enhance the overall financial health of Academic Affairs and Medical Group. Participate in decision-making plans for where/what/how to improve operational performance, enhance outcomes and by cultivating personal relationships with key leaders. Assist the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Academic Affairs and Medical Group with the implementation of strategic goals for efficiency and/or revenue generation. Provide support and guidance for the creation of new academic departments or services in Academic Affairs. Direct and guide Academic Affairs reporting initiatives within the University areas. Implement and manage a total professional effort system partnering with departments, finance, information resources, and other institutional areas. Oversee institutional space planning and management including reporting on facilities and space utilization for accrediting agencies, consultants, state and federal agencies, and internal / external sources. Oversee and manage special projects as needed by the Associate Vice President of Academic and Clinical Operations. Oversee and manage special projects as needed by the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Academic Affairs and Medical Group. Performs other duties as assigned.
