CDM Smith currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with previous experience managing transportation projects to join and help lead our growing New England Transportation group. In this position, you will manage complex transportation and transit projects for major agencies and municipalities in MA, NH, and RI. You will lead multi-disciplined project teams, develop the scope and budget for transportation projects, assist with marketing and business development activities, and serve as a leader in our New England Transportation Group.
We are open to this position working hybrid and being tied to any of our offices in: MA, NH, or RI.
As a leader in our program, you will serve our clients and deliver on exciting opportunities by:
Serving as the Senior Project Manager for design projects in our transportation program.
Working with current staff to enhance our transportation services capabilities.
Mentoring staff and helping to expand our design and program management practice in MA, NH, and RI markets.
Leading the development of project scopes, schedules, and budgets, and monitoring and controlling project performance.
Performing Quality Control/Quality Assurance of key deliverables related to transportation projects managed by others.
Implementing CDM Smith’s quality procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Assisting with marketing and business development efforts to further expand our clients base and project opportunities with New England region transportation agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
7 years of related experience.
PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineering (PE) license, highly preferred.
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering, or related degree.
Previous experience managing transportation design projects for MA, NH, and/or RI.
Previous experience managing urban design programs for multimodal transportation projects.
Previous experience assisting with the proposal process and presenting/meeting with transportation clients.
Strong experience meeting and working with Massachusetts state agencies and cities, such as MBTA, MassDOT and Massport, as well as mid to large sized cities.
