JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Installs, tests, calibrates, troubleshoots and repairs field instruments including meters, transmitters, transducers, controllers, switches, solenoids, relays, control valves, regulators, actuators, positioners, and instrument loops.Services both electronic and pneumatic field instruments.Troubleshoots and repairs Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, vibration monitoring systems, and other specialty instruments.Performs maintenance per established written procedures. Uses drawings, equipment manuals, procedures, and proper tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment.Documents work performed in test forms and condition reports.Marks up drawings for as-built revision by drafting based upon field inspection.Reads schematics and logic diagrams.Uploads and downloads field instrumentation data.Reads loop diagrams, logic diagrams, P&IDs.Strokes valves and calibrates instrumentation per specifications.Uploads and downloads field analyzer data.Troubleshoots analyzer sample systems and calibrates analyzers per specifications.Reviews and re-writes procedures for instrumentation work.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Standing, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 30-pounds, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and stretching, pushing, pulling, dragging 50-yards, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, use of hands and feet.Must be able to work safely and in adverse conditions in various forms of PPE such as fresh air mask.May have to work in small and confined spaces and at heights.Some overtime & nightshift work required.This work is in a safety sensitive environment that requires you to pass and comply with a continuous random drug and alcohol-testing program.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Instrument Technician or Maintenance Analyzer Technician in refining, chemical, power industry, or related technical school training or military experience is required.Programmable logic control experience is required.Journeyman level qualified is preferred.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.).Successful completion of a skills assessment.Valid Driver's License is required.PAY AND BENEFITS:Starting pay is $48.76 per hour upon qualification with a highly competitive benefits package including retirement and medical.
