Deliver a high volume of orthopedic care by optimizing the physician-patient contact time by ensuring all patients are thoroughly prepared prior to seeing the physician. Ensure the patient thoroughly understands their condition and participate in their care, by enhancing the recovery time. Ensure the patient receives all appropriate information, scripts, patient education materials, etc., to proceed with the next steps of their medical care as per the physicians instructions and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtains all charts from Medical Records and ensures all information for the patients visit is available.Retrieves patients digital films from Medview system during clinic for physician review.Ensures that zones are adequately stocked for the clinic, including medical supplies and prescriptions.Escorts the patients into the exam rooms.Assists the physician during visit with injections, suture removal, dressing changes, etc.Prepares prescriptions and patient education materials.Ensures that the patient understands the physicians instructions for sample medications and follow-up care.Verifies the charge ticket has been completed correctly.Returns outside films to the patient at the end of the appointment unless the physician requests to have the films filed at FOI.Returns all charts and films to the appropriate area after clinic ensuring that all paperwork is secured inside patient chart and patient label is placed on any outside film jackets.Ensures all DCW25 work comp status forms are placed in the appropriate folder for the Workers Compensation Department.Cleans all exam rooms, ensuring red bags and sharps boxes are replaced if applicable.Re-stocks all exam rooms and MA station for the next day clinic.Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic InstituteAll other duties as assigned.
About You:
High School Diploma requiredMedical Assistant Diploma or MA Certification requiredMust be willing to travel to all of our clinic locations in the Tampa Bay areaBLS Certification required within 90 days of employment
