Job Description
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to plan and oversee day-to-day operations at Holiday Inn Express, White River Inn. The General Manager will supervise personnel, help with guests, and ensure that our guests have an excellent experience at the hotel. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about providing exceptional customer service while adhering to hotel budget and quality standards.
This is a full time position located in White River Inn, Vermont.
Work Performed
As General Manager, you are responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the hotel operation and for delivering results that contribute to the vision and overall success of the hotel. In this role, you are expected to hit hotel targets, manage profitability, and deliver an excellent guest experience.
Oversee day-to-day operation of the hotel and maintain all standards of guest service
Oversee the Front Desk, Reservations, and Housekeeping, and any other relevant departments
Interface with guests on a daily basis and resolve any concerns that may arise
Work with Regional Manager and Vice President of Operations to plan budgets, payroll, and improve systems and revenue
Assess and adjust performance throughout the year to stay profitable
Ensure adherence to hotel and company policies and/or procedures
Coordinate with corporate departments to ensure completion of all procedures, including accounting, accounts payable, etc.
Facilitate the hotel's human resources functions, such as HR administration, turnover control, staff motivation, and employee development and retention
Develop a strong knowledge of local market (demand generators, competitor strategy, and community impact/involvement opportunities)
Ensure that all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, as well as any hotel policies and practices, are followed
Ensure that each guest experience exceeds expectations
Requirements
5 or more years of experience working in the hospitality field
2 plus years of experience in a hotel or general managerial role overseeing a team, preferably in hospitality
Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form with guests, management, and associates. Respond accurately and timely to provide information.
Ability to understand and provide excellent customer service
Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
Must be responsible and be able to work independently
Ability to learn applicable systems (PMS, OTAs, POS, Microsoft Outlook + Suite, and more)
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs
Must be able to work onsite at the hotel location
Ability to cover shifts as needed for associates
Hours required: full time hours; includes weekends and holidays
Proficiency in the English language
Compensation
$70,000 Annually
