Position Summary
The Workday HRIS Lead oversees the day-to-day operations of Chord’s Workday technology platform. The position functions as the Subject Matter Expert and has deep working knowledge and technical expertise with Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, and LMS modules. The Workday HRIS Lead also works with all Workday and integrated applications and modules, configuration development, along with Workday Prism, reporting, and dashboards. The position is responsible for evaluating processes, building new capabilities and functionality, and automating HR processes. The Workday HRIS Lead will plan, prioritize, and execute Workday initiatives provided by leadership, with focus on configurations to improve functionality and reporting. The Workday HRIS Lead will own the application and proactively recommend improvements and mentor others on the HR HRIS team to meet the objectives of the department and business. This position is located in downtown Houston, TX. Hybrid work schedule is an option for remote work on Mondays and Fridays.
Level and salary commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Functions
Manage the ongoing design, deployment and maintenance of Workday HCM and support the day-to-day operations.
Provide scope, scale, and design of detailed technology solutions for specific HR business needs.
Deploy configuration changes. Design, test, implement, and transition new Workday applications, configurations, and solutions to production.
Oversee and maintain optimal function of the organization's internal HR information services systems, which may include database management, network support, installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrades to applications, systems, and modules.
Oversee and maintain internal database files, tables, codes, backup files, integrity, and security.
Install, implement, modify, and upgrade software and applications to meet changing business and technology needs.
Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HR employees.
Collaborate with executive leadership and HR staff to identify needed improvements and enhancements to existing information services and databases; recommend and implement solutions.
Manage permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HR services users.
Program custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports.
Compile or assist with acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs requested by senior executives and HR staff.
Serve as lead representative and liaison between HR, Information Services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HR database design and implementation projects.
Ensure system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in data management and security, HR technology, and HRIS applications.
Oversee the procurement of appropriate hardware and software to ensure that the organization has high quality, efficient systems.
Facilitate migration to a unified HRIS if required.
Oversee the creation of learning materials for employees and management to easily navigate and use the system.
Work collaboratively with IT, Benefits, and Payroll colleagues on security roles, integrations, and other shared systems.
Oversee testing of new system features and releases with IT, Benefits, and Payroll colleagues.
Support Workday technology upgrades - assessing impact of new Workday features, coordinating rollout with project teams and business leaders, as needed.
Proactively direct projects, project risks/issues and implement effective mitigation plans.
Communicate effectively and manage Workday project stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.
Advise and support Human Resources Team on technical issues relating to Workday HRIS database and applications.
Communicate status and key business information effectively to leadership and internal customers.
Act as liaison and Workday subject matter expert between HR, IT, Finance, and other departments.
Maintain awareness of current trends in HR technology and HR regulations while monitoring the Workday Roadmap.
Teach and develop HRIS team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff in the department.
Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
Provide constructive and timely performance feedback.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent skills and knowledge required.
10 years of HRIS technical experience.
5 years of experience in the Workday ecosystem, implementing or operating Workday HCM.
Must have extensive experience and working knowledge related to Workday and Workday Prism, system design, Workday calculated fields, complex Workday configurations, business processes, dashboard development.
Ability to oversee and lead other Workday modules: Advanced Compensation, Learning, Talent, Financial.
Strong knowledge of broad Human Resource systems and data flow.
Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with multiple internal/external stakeholders.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with both technical and functional users.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company.
Ability to meet deadlines.
