is an individual contributor responsible for determining the accounting treatment for complex and significant transactions, implementation of new accounting standards, financial reporting as well as managing the internal control program of the Company. This full-time position involves developing, implementing, and enhancing policies, systems, procedures, and internal controls to mitigate financial statement risks. This individual will report to, and work collaboratively with, the VP of Finance Operations of the Company. The candidate should have strong technical accounting experience, be analytical with demonstrated problem-solving skills, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy, and provide solid advice. This is a critical and high-profile role which plays an integral part in the Company’s growth and success.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform technical accounting research on a wide variety of business transactions and document conclusions in accounting position papers.Ensure proper accounting for significant judgment/complex areas such as convertible preferred stock, derivatives and incentive units.Establish and manage the equity compensation process.Facilitate/coordinate the process of implementing new accounting standards and accounting changes.Prepare and/or review financial statements and related disclosures.Be the primary liaison for the external financial statement audit.Manage the internal controls program to mitigate financial statement risks.Manage the accounting team’s reporting deliverables to internal stakeholders as well as sponsors, partners, and board of managers working closely with the CFO, FP&A team, and Director of Investor Relations and Analytics ensuring accurate, complete and timely delivery.Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP while maximizing efficiencies and reducing barriers to scale.Support financial analyses and forecasting activities by providing valuable well-articulated and clearly documented insights working closely with other departments, including FP&A.Help cultivate a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the accounting team.Other responsibilities are deemed necessary.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREDBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or similar field required.7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public accounting (Big 4 firms), public and private equity owned companies.High level of technical accounting proficiency.3+ years of experience in a financial reporting role.Experience with establishing an internal controls program is highly preferred.3+ years of management experience and track record developing high-performing individuals and teams preferred.CPA required.In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, and internal controls.Exceptional communication skills to articulate business and accounting issues to finance and non-finance audiences.Strong written skills to construct comprehensive written financial statement disclosures and technical accounting memos.Strong leadership with proven ability to collaborate with business partners to drive change.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in working with large data sets to summarize, compare, and evaluate data.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work at corporate office in Kirkland WA a minimum of 3 days a week.COMPENSATION:At Sono Bello, we believe that our team members are the keys to our success. The compensation range for this role is $107,000 - $150,000.BENEFITS:Benefits Package includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K, EAP, PTO, and paid holidays.
