What part will you play?
GAF Energy is seeking a talented Field Applications Manager to help lead the strategic development of building-integrated solar photovoltaic products (BIPV). This role will report to the Director of Field Deployment Applications and work across all functional teams at GAF Energy and our partners.
You will ensure all new products meet the needs of installers and the demands of the field.
You will be responsible for managing alpha installation testing, translating quality feedback into closed-loop learning, and providing specialized technical support to emerging business segments.
The ideal candidate will have experience with solar, construction, and/or roofing installation best practices, as well as excellent project management skills, clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interface seamlessly between business teams to execute projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
What will you do?
Test product prototypes and be the “voice of the field” for our product engineering and design teams.
Project manage installation testing programs across multiple states with dozens of customers and partners.
Translate field feedback into actionable recommendations for how the product engineering and design teams can enhance product features.
Consolidate quality feedback from both customers and internal teams to identify and prioritize potential product improvements.
Be a subject matter expert on the Timberline Solar product, and be available for a variety of issue support escalations.
Provide onsite installation support and training for special projects, customers, and business development events.
Represent the voice of the contractor and customer across the organization.
What do we require from you?
5+ years proven work experience within renewable energy, solar, roofing, and/or construction industries.
Experience managing construction crews, ensuring quality workmanship, and enforcing compliance with all applicable codes, safety, and other requirements.
Proven track record with on-schedule and on-budget project management execution.
Ability to work across multiple departments to form cross-functional teams as needed for individual projects.
Entrepreneurial and self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and with diverse teams.
Highly detail-oriented with a desire to learn.
Customer-centric mindset and ability to represent the voice of the customer.
Intermediate proficiency with Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Drive, Meet, Slides, Chat, Forms, Sheets, and Docs).
Strong presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Exceptional multitasking and prioritization abilities in a dynamic work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
10-20% domestic travel as needed.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to wear safety equipment (weighing up to 15 lbs) and perform work at heights.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs.
Specific vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus is required.
Must be able to walk, stand, and maintain balance on sloped surfaces such as roofs.
Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing is required.
Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of tools and equipment is required.
Benefits and Compensation:
Individuals hired for this position can reasonably expect a base salary within the range of $110,000 - $150,000. The company provides comprehensive health and retirement savings plan benefits that support an employee's total well-being.
