Stretched across approximately 4.5 square miles of San Patricio County, Sinton, the county seat, is a vibrant and growing community. the departments 12 sworn employees stand as guardians of a vibrant community, ensuring its peace, security, unity, and prosperity.Under the supervision of the City Manager, the Police Chief handles the preservation of the public peace; prevention of crime; apprehension of criminals; regulation of traffic; protection of rights of persons and property; and enforcement of the laws of the State of Texas and the ordinances of the City of Sinton.It is highly desired that the next Chief be willing to take an active role beyond the administrative duties of the position.The next Chief will be a decisive leader who is service oriented and passionate about directing the Citys law enforcement operations, and actively works to ensure the communitys trust and confidence in the integrity and effectiveness of the Police Department. A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Criminal Justice, Management, Business, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field is required, coupled with ten or more years of senior command experience. Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience, which provides the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other competencies necessary for the position, will be considered. The City of Sinton offers a competitive starting salary depending on qualifications and experience.
