The company continues its years of consistent growth with a full-time opportunity for you to join the team!SUMMARYThe Software Engineer in Test (SDET Development) plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products. Must design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to streamline the testing process. SDETs work closely with development and product teams to create comprehensive test plans, execute various types of tests (including functional, regression, performance, and integration tests), and ensure that software meets the required standards before release. The SDET position will be instrumental in helping the company transition to storing, managing, and processing data through cloud-based remote servers hosted on the internet.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Comprehensive Testing
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using programming languages such as C#.Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing, ensuring thorough coverage of all software components and features.
Collaboration
Work closely with development, product, and QA teams to understand requirements, develop effective test plans, participate in code reviews, and provide feedback on testability and quality.Collaborate with developers to diagnose and resolve issues.
Defect and Testing Management
Identify, log, and track software defects using tools like Jira.Ensure test environments are set up correctly with accurate data.Utilize databases, such as Microsoft SQL, to manage and validate test data.
Cloud Transition Support
Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, techniques, and best practices. Support the company's transition to cloud-based infrastructure by developing and executing tests tailored for cloud environments.Ensure that cloud-based applications meet performance, security, and scalability standards.
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in software development/testing.ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) certification or equivalent.Cloud-related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate) are beneficial, especially as the company moves toward a cloud environment.
Skills and Competencies:
Familiarity with test management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools.Experience with cloud platforms.Strong analytical skills to identify issues and determine solutions during the software development lifecycle.Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as C#, Blazor, .NetCore or others relevant to the testing framework being used.Experience with scripting languages and automation tools.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, Technical Degree or Certification preferred and knowledge of SQL, JIRA a plus. 1+ year(s) experience in test automation.Candidate MUST be able to pass the following in order to be considered:a computer assessment (Microsoft Word/ Adobe Acrobat)a criminal and a client-issued background checka drug testThis opportunity is for a full-time, Mon-Fri, 40 hour work week.
