Parametric is part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, the asset management division of Morgan Stanley. We partner with advisors, institutions, and consultants to build portfolios focused on what's important to them and their clients. A leader in custom solutions for more than 30 years, we help investors access efficient market exposures, solve implementation challenges, and design multi-asset portfolios that respond to their evolving needs. We also offer systematic alpha and alternative strategies to complement clients' core holdings.
This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 2-3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.
About The Role
Parametric is seeking a Software Engineer to help develop proprietary software solutions. Parametric provides a mature workplace for software professionals. Custom software is a key element of Parametric's success and as such we consider software development a tier one competency.
Primary ResponsibilitiesUtilize programming and quantitative skills to create efficiencies for traders, analysts and portfolio managers with the primary goal of improving systems.Work closely with investment professionals and other team members to understand and document requirements in order to provide solutions to complex business problems.Work towards a long-term goal of specializing in development areas, including but not limited to: front-end interfaces, data analytics, back-end design, and data architecture.Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science strongly preferred.2+ Years of hands-on .Net software design and development experience.Experience with web-based UI development, e.g., Angular, React, or similar preferred.Experience with SQL server required.Experience with cloud native development, preferably on AWS is a plus.Excellent communication and ability to collaborate well with both technical and non-technical users.Strong math orientation and numerical aptitude.Interest in combining technical skills with Finance and business level understanding.Understanding of financial markets and familiarity with fixed income is a plus.
Compensation
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
