Title: Senior SAP Variant Configuration (VC) Subject Matter ExpertLocation: Grand Rapids, MIDuration: 1 year+Job Description:Job Requirements:Hands-on experience with data analysis skills using Microsoft Excel or similar tools to manipulate complex or large data sets.Demonstrated ability to take abstract concepts and translate or simplify them into another defined format.Knowledge of SAP, either through academic coursework, certification programs, or regular work is desired but not mandatory.An understanding of SAP Variant Configuration methods and techniques, including the ability to develop rules containing executable code, is desired but not mandatory.Proficiency in the use of Excel, Access, and various Mass Loading Tools for Data Loading is desired.The ability to read and understand various technical documentation (such as Statement Of Line, Engineering documents).Years of Experience:
> 10 years with functional experience in OTC, Production Bill of Materials, Characteristics, and Classes associated with VC.Summary:The SME will be working with a highly complex environment and with client resources that are highly functional and technically experienced with Variant Configuration. The person needs to be a leader who has worked directly with VP and CIO levels of management in addition to director levels of management.Primary activities include evaluating existing product data models into new product models as required by Marketing, Engineering, Sales, PIC, Sourcing, Manufacturing Operations, and Distribution.Validate the data representation of product models in support of product development, order fulfillment, life-cycle maintenance, customer service, specials, pricing, order planning and scheduling, inventory management, and electronic catalog processes. Ensure consistency between the database and publications. The emphasis is on data integrity, providing efficient order specification, pricing, manufacturing, and shipping for improved product profitability and dealer/customer satisfaction.Technical Skills:A thorough understanding of S4 SAP Variant Configuration methods and techniques, including the ability to develop rules containing executable code.Proficiency in the use of Excel, Access, and working knowledge of SAP Mass Loading Tools from ECC and PLM applications to S4.The ability to read and understand various technical documentation (such as Statement Of Line, Engineering documents).Super BOM, Super Routing, Class type 200, Class Type 300 (Class and Characteristics Defining), KMAT Material, and Creation Configuration Profile and Simulation.Configured and customized SAP modules to align with client business processes, designed deployment solutions to expedite the implementation of SAP solutions. Integration Testing with Other Modules.Worked on Local Object Dependencies, used Precondition, selection condition, and Reference Tables. Familiar with modulo division.Process Skills:Thorough knowledge of the techniques, methods, and data standards employed to represent product information on the SAP product database, Electronic Catalog, and Specification Guides.Thorough comprehension and knowledge of the business processes and systems which interact and utilize product information (Order Entry, Pricing, PIC, Manufacturing Operations, Distribution, etc.).Consulting and Industry Skills:Familiarity with the furniture industry is a plus.Excellent communication skills.Ability to follow through and commit to deadlines.Business Analyst mindset with abstract thinking skills.
