DescriptionSAIC is currently looking for a
Systems Engineer
to support our Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) team located in Lakehurst, NJ. The Systems Engineer would be responsible for creating solutions for the integration of system level components and addressing complex problem-solving issues to integrate legacy systems with newer technologies.An active Secret clearance is required. Willing to relocate for the absolute best fit!General Overview:Coordinate, integrate and assist in the management of technical efforts being performed to ensure that identified needs are transformed into effective and life-cycle optimized systems.Ensure compatibility of all functional and physical interfaces (internal and external).Confirm that the system’s definition and design reflect the requirements for all systems elements (hardware, software, data, facilities, etc.).Ensure that engineering efforts follow the Systems Engineering process.Work in a multifaceted team with many stakeholders (engineering, logistics, manufacturing, contractor, program leadership) in problem solving efforts for designated aspects of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables, and constraints.Document solutions in relation to the technical, cost, and schedule constraints.Development and review of various technical documentation, including change management documentation, presentation materials, and white papers.Participate in, and assist in activities for various segments of program execution, which may include Risk Management, Configuration Management, Data Management, Trade-off Analysis/Trade Studies, Technical Performance Measures, Technical Reviews, and Modeling & Simulation.Communicate with stakeholders across program offices, fleet and industry stakeholders.QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Computer preferred)The Systems Engineer shall have a minimum of 5 years of acquisition experience in the systems engineering field for requirements management/verification.Successful applicants will be familiar with the DoN Systems Engineering Process and the DoN Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) policy and process and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the skill sets listed in preferred qualifications.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders of varying technical knowledge and viewpoints.Active Secret clearance is required.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Experience with CORE or GENESYS preferred.Experience operating environment and Aviation operations aboard relevant platforms such as CVN class ships.Production engineering experience; reviewing all DoD acquisition documentation supporting a major system production.Experience working with Systems Engineering processes or, preferably, the NAVAIR SE process.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders of varying technical knowledge and viewpoints.Experience in briefing technical issues to leadership, preferably to non-technical personnel.Work in integrated programs that include different disciplines of engineering and/or logistics.Experience leading engineering teams in design, development, or manufacturing projects.
