Join our team as we help shape the future.The Hartford's Group Benefits IT Team is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven Software Engineer (Hybrid) who is responsible for working in engineering teams to successfully drive the transformation of our application landscape. They will work on an agile team to build and support various invest & maintenance assignments to achieve business outcomes on a large transformational program.Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate strong technical skills, excellent partnership with stakeholders and partner teams, willingness to understand/adhere to existing processes and standards, solid technical acumen, experience in delivering quality technical solutions, and ability to deliver high-quality solutions while ensuring systems are stable, performant, and secure.Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in application software solution development requiredHands-on experience with using Angular 13 or newer requiredHands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, such as Java Web Services, JMS, JSP, XML, JSON, JDBC, etc.Hands-on experience with .NET frameworkExperience with Web Services (SOAP and Rest)Experience with writing and using APIsExperience with containerization and cloud infrastructure environments like Open Shift AWSExperience with Oracle and SQL Server relational database technologies. Knowledge of open-source database technologies is beneficialExperience with continuous integration and DevOps methodologies, preferred tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Rally, SonarQube, etc.Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code for all backend componentsContribute to the code base and ensure code and processes adhere to clean code practices and industry best practicesExperience working in an Agile or SAFe development environmentExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the security domain a plusExperience with rules engines like IBM ODM or Pega is nice-to-haveExperience with cloud-based technologies (AWS), SaaS, and open-source frameworks is helpfulScripting language such as Python is helpfulExperience with AWS CloudFormation/Terraform is a plusCandidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency, and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
