Position Description

As the Configuration Management Specialist, you will provide site support for the new construction of U.S. Navy’s ships. You will have the opportunity to work with a highly skilled and detailed oriented team located at our Arlington, VA location.
Serco supports the US Navy as a prime for their PEO Ships - PMS400D contract supporting the acquisition of Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) class guided missile destroyers. These platforms enable our nation and its allies to project presence in peace, power in wartime, and assured access at all times.
In this role, you will:
Participate in change processing through both Baseline and Post-Baseline Design processes.
Consolidate cost information into formal packages for our Navy customer.
Audit change documentation.
Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to resolve questions and/or concerns with change issues.
Assist team in instruction updates, drafting letters, Navy correspondence, and documentation.
Participate in weekly and bi-weekly meetings with both Shipbuilders and Design Agents.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DOD Secret Clearance.
US Citizenship.
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field
A High School Diploma/GED and 4 additional years of Configuration Management or related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
2 years of related or similar experience (Experience performing configuration management on Navy platforms highly preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft office programs; primarily Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to plan and coordinate individual assignments.
Ability to collaborate in a virtual environment with team members in multiple locations.
Research skills and solution oriented.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
